Fire and Fate
by Danilo Stern-Sapad
An epic symphonic metal track about destiny, choices, and the flames that forge our path.
Lyrics
[Intro] “Arma virumque cano, Troiae qui primus ab oris” (I sing of arms and the man, who first from the shores of Troy…)
[Verse 1] From burning walls, through fire and dust, A city lost, a fate unjust. The gods have spoken, the pyres rise, Troy is gone, beneath darkened skies.
Through raging seas and Tempest’s wail, The wrath of Juno on my sail. A world in ruin, a path untold, Yet fate decrees my heart stays bold.
[Pre-Chorus] “Fata viam invenient” (Fate will find a way) Through every storm, through every flame. A kingdom forged in gods’ decree, A promised land beyond the sea.
[Chorus] O gods of war, O winds of fate! Guide me through fire, through sorrow and hate. Though shadows rise, though love must fall, By sword and storm, I heed the call!
[Verse 2] Carthage blooms where love once shone, A queen forsaken, left alone. Aeneas, torn by duty’s claim, The gods decree, but love burns in vain.
Her bitter cry, the torches flare, A dagger’s kiss, a last despair. “Per caecos erramus amores!”
[Pre-Chorus] “Fata viam invenient”(Fate will find a way) Through burning love, through storm and flame. The dream still calls, the path is set, A crown awaits where dawn has met.
[Chorus] O gods of war, O winds of fate! Guide me through fire, through sorrow and hate. Though shadows rise, though love must fall, By sword and storm, I heed the call!
[Bridge] “Fuimus Troes, fuit Ilium!” (We were Trojans, Ilium was!) Steel meets steel, the blood is spilled, The gods have willed, the fates fulfilled. Turnus falls, the war is won, Aeneas reigns, the dawn begun!
[Final Chorus] O gods of war, O winds of fate! Guide me through fire, through sorrow and hate. Though shadows rise, though love must fall, By sword and storm, I heed the call!
O fields of Rome, O golden throne! The stars have carved the path I’ve known. By gods’ decree, by fire’s might, Eternal reign, eternal…
[Outro] “Arma virumque cano…” (I sing of arms and the man…)
About: The Aeneid was my maternal grandma’s favorite epic poem. She could recite it from memory.
